MEET KELLERMEIER

THOMAS  KELLERMEIER

Founder + Owner

Thomas Kellermeier is the founder and owner of Kellermeier Contracting, bringing 38 years of construction experience and a lifelong connection to the trades. Today, he guides the company’s growth, working closely with clients during the early stages of their projects, preparing estimates and proposals, maintaining relationships, and supporting the team across residential and commercial builds.

Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Thomas grew up in the painting and renovation business established by his grandfather and later operated by his father. He was expected to become the next generation to lead the family company and learned from an early age that integrity, quality work, and treating clients well were the foundations of a strong business.

After immigrating to Canada, Thomas established Kellermeier Contracting as a one-person renovation company in the late 1990s. He began with smaller residential renovations and remodels while working alongside local carpenters to expand his knowledge of Canadian wood-frame construction.

Building a business in a new country required patience and persistence. Thomas was learning a new language, adapting to a different culture, and earning trust in communities where much of the construction work came through established relationships and word of mouth.

As Kellermeier’s reputation grew, so did the size and complexity of its projects. Renovation contracts for local tourism and municipal buildings helped raise the company’s profile, leading to new referrals and opportunities. The business was incorporated in 2005 and has since developed into a fully licensed and accredited construction company serving Kamloops, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, Sun Peaks, and communities throughout British Columbia’s Southern Interior.

Thomas’s experience spans custom homes, major renovations, mountain chalets, lakeside properties, log and timber-frame homes, post-and-beam construction, insulated concrete form building systems, and commercial renovations. Since relocating to Kamloops, Kellermeier has increasingly focused on custom residential construction and small to mid-sized commercial projects, including the distinctive Ebata Eye Care clinic.

His approach is hands-on, organized, and centred on the belief that quality begins long before the finishes are installed. Thomas pays close attention to the structural and technical details clients may never see, knowing those decisions determine how well a building performs and how long it lasts.

He also believes that quality construction and dependable timelines can go together. With proper planning, careful coordination, and an experienced team, projects can move efficiently without compromising the standard of the work.

Thomas encourages clients to involve a builder as early as possible, ideally before purchasing a lot or finalizing plans. Early guidance can identify site challenges, reduce unnecessary costs, and connect clients with local professionals who understand regional building codes, conditions, and engineering requirements.

He is especially proud to have built a company known for quality work, long-standing client relationships, and repeat referrals. He is equally proud that his son, daughter, and son-in-law have chosen to build their careers with Kellermeier, continuing the family’s connection to the trades and helping lead the company into its next generation.

Outside of work, Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchild, as well as golfing, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and exploring the Interior. More recently, he has taken up baking in pursuit of the Bavarian pretzels he remembers from home.

KEAN  KELLERMEIER

Lead Carpenter + Foreman

Kean Kellermeier is a Red Seal carpenter and is Lead Carpenter and Foreman with Kellermeier Contracting. With nine years of construction experience, he oversees residential job sites throughout the Kamloops region while continuing to work hands-on alongside the crew.

Kean manages daily schedules, assigns work, reviews blueprints and specifications, coordinates materials and tools, trains new team members, and inspects completed work. He is responsible for keeping projects safe, organized, and on schedule while ensuring each stage is completed properly and meets Kellermeier’s standards.

Raised in 100 Mile House and Kamloops, Kean was introduced to construction by his father. He was drawn to the ability to create something tangible from the ground up and knew he wanted to pursue the trade after completing his first house project. His approach has been shaped by Red Seal training, years of hands-on experience, and practical knowledge passed down by experienced tradespeople.

Kean believes quality and attention to detail should take priority over speed. He pays close attention to the precision behind the finished work, including making sure every element is square, plumb, and level. He also keeps up with changing building codes, materials, products, and technologies that can improve the appearance, comfort, and long-term performance of a home.

Known for being efficient and organized, Kean continues to strengthen his skills in crew leadership, job-site planning, and staff management. He works to create a clean, well-run site where clients are kept informed, potential issues are addressed openly, and practical ideas and solutions are shared throughout the project. His goal is to make construction feel as seamless as possible without cutting corners or compromising workmanship.

One of Kean’s most meaningful projects was renovating his own home and transforming an older house into a space that felt entirely his own. He enjoys working outdoors and being able to see the tangible results of the team’s effort at the end of each day. Away from the job site, he spends his time golfing, mountain biking, and skiing, and is a regular visitor to the Kamloops Bike Ranch.

ANDREW WEIR

Foreman + Passive House Tradesperson

Andrew Weir is a Red Seal carpenter and Foreman with Kellermeier Contracting, bringing 10 years of construction experience to custom homes and large-scale residential renovations throughout the Kamloops region. A certified Passive House Tradesperson, Andrew supervises crews and manages daily job-site operations while continuing to work hands-on alongside the team.

Andrew organizes site activities, coordinates schedules with subcontractors, supports crew members, and helps keep each stage of a project moving safely and efficiently. He is responsible for ensuring projects run smoothly, remain on schedule, and meet Kellermeier’s standards for quality and craftsmanship.

Originally from Prince Rupert, Andrew entered the construction industry after moving to Kamloops in 2015. He was drawn to the opportunity to watch projects take shape from the ground up and to play a direct role in creating something lasting. Working alongside Thomas Kellermeier has been an important part of developing his technical knowledge and approach to the trade.

Andrew believes in completing work properly the first time and taking responsibility for each part of the job. He understands that careful planning, sequencing, coordination, and problem-solving behind the scenes are essential to achieving a high-quality result. He also believes clients benefit from spending more time planning and consulting with the right experts before construction begins.

One of Andrew’s most meaningful projects was a custom home in Monte Lake for clients who had lost their previous home in a wildfire. It was also one of the first projects where he was placed in charge of job-site operations. Helping the clients rebuild while taking on greater responsibility made the project an important milestone in his career.

Known for his attention to detail, reliability, and steady approach to problem-solving, Andrew works to understand each client’s vision and keep them informed throughout the project. He values the relationships built with clients, trades, and project partners and takes pride in delivering work he is prepared to stand behind. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife Lara, son Jaden and daughter Noa, playing hockey, and golfing with Eaglepoint Golf Resort among his favourite local places to play.
