CUSTOM MEANS MORE
THAN CHOOSING THE FINISHES
Every property comes with its own opportunities, limitations and decisions. The orientation of the lot, access, terrain, engineering requirements, building systems, design, budget and intended use of the home can all influence what makes sense long before construction begins.
That is why Kellermeier encourages clients to bring the construction team into the conversation early. The more we understand at the beginning, the better positioned the entire project team is to make informed decisions, identify potential challenges and keep the build moving in the right direction.

A CUSTOM HOME BUILT
FOR THE WAY YOU WILL USE IT
Beautiful spaces matter, but a well-built home has to work just as well behind the finished surfaces. Kellermeier pays close attention to the structural, mechanical and technical details that influence how a home feels, performs and ages over time.

CUSTOM HOME QUESTIONS
Common questions about building a custom home
When should I contact a builder about a custom home? Earlier is generally better. Bringing the builder into the conversation while the property, design, engineering and project requirements are still being considered creates more opportunity to identify construction implications before major decisions are finalized.
What should I have ready for the first conversation? It is helpful to know where the project will be located, whether you already own the property, what stage your plans are at, your general priorities for the home and your anticipated timing. If architectural or engineering work has already begun, those materials are useful to share as well. You do not need to have every answer before making contact.
Does Kellermeier build in Sun Peaks? Yes. Kellermeier is expanding its work in Sun Peaks, with a particular focus on custom homes, substantial renovations and mountain properties.
Can Kellermeier work with my architect or designer? Kellermeier’s approach is built around collaboration between the client, builder, designers, consultants and trades. The team can work alongside the professionals already involved in the project and believes early coordination helps establish clearer expectations before construction begins.
Do I need completed architectural plans before contacting Kellermeier? No. Kellermeier can begin the conversation while a project is still in the planning stages. Early involvement allows the construction team to understand the property, project goals and emerging plans before everything is finalized.
Where does Kellermeier build custom homes? Kellermeier Contracting is based in Kamloops and works on projects throughout Sun Peaks, the Southern Interior and North Okanagan. Projects are considered individually based on location, scope, timing and fit.
Does Kellermeier build energy-efficient or high-performance homes? Yes. Kellermeier incorporates high-performance construction knowledge into projects where energy efficiency, building-envelope performance, airtightness, comfort and durability are priorities. The team includes certified Passive House Tradesperson Andrew Weir.
How long does it take to build a custom home? There is no single timeline that applies to every custom home. Project size, complexity, design, site conditions, permitting, engineering, selections, material availability and the number of decisions required can all affect timing. Kellermeier’s approach is to establish realistic expectations around the individual project rather than applying a generic timeline before the scope is understood.
